This is just your friendly reminder to vote this Tuesday! The election will decide several local posts (mostly judges), but most of the talk has been around T-SPLOST - the 10 year transportation tax that will provide funding for things like Marta and The BeltLine, plus a number of road-related projects around metro Atlanta. I'm sure you've heard enough about the T-SPLOST issue - so the important part now is to go let your voice be heard. All of the metro area will vote on T-SPLOST.
Another big issue on the ballot is Brookhaven voting to become a city. Proponents of the measure say that Brookhaven deserves lower taxes and more local control. Others feel it will actually create a tax burden, and that the city will not be financially stable enough. Brookhaven has been a quickly growing area, attracting new residents with a bevy of new restaurants, shops, and entertainment options opening in recent years. Only local area residents will vote on the Brookhaven issue.
