For some reason, it took silly me a while to figure out what the heck "cell phone lots" at the airport were for. We didn't have on here in Atlanta, and I rarely visit the airport anyway, so I just didn't get it! Well, what they are for is waiting to pick up loved ones - since you aren't allowed to sit in front of the airport anymore. You park there and wait for them to call, so you can pull up and get them. I know, it's pretty simple.
And now, the Atlanta airport is getting one!
The lot will open this week and will have 160 spots. The cell phone lot is along South Terminal Parkway at the east end of the Park-Ride Reserve lot. Users may access it from a new driveway on the right side of South Terminal Parkway.
